In many parts of the world women are struggling with basic needs such as having enough food and water for their children, having equal rights and being able to get an education. Many suffer in oppressive cultures with “honor” killings, genital mutilation, being outcasts because they have been raped and other incomprehensible acts and “customs.”
In the West, even though there is more work to be done, most women enjoy freedom of expression and choice, equal rights and having our basic needs met. Yet, many of us find ourselves squeezed into a square, rational, doing- oriented, world where natural feminine initiations such as monthly bleedings and childbirth have been reduced to clinical procedures that preferably should not be noticed. (In the U.S it is even illegal in some states to breastfeed in public!)
Our deeply feeling nature is ridiculed and our intuitive knowing ignored, by ourselves and by our men. We don’t love and honor ourselves; instead we enlarge our breasts with plastic, starve ourselves to be thin and turn our denied longing and sad hearts into addictions to food, shopping or painkillers.
The higher purpose of the Temple Group is to support a whole, healthy and fully flowering woman that embodies the love that is her deepest essence. The gift of the Temple Group to the world is the allowing, embracing and giving birth to a fully expressed, divine, feminine essence. We explore and practice being empowered, free and deeply feminine at the same time, holding the vision of a fully realized, awakened female expression on Earth.
The Temple practices are designed by women for women, they are a spiritual practice that embraces and enhances our feminine nature, instead of asking us to transcend or deny it. In this embracing of our feminine nature we are restoring a natural balance between the masculine and the feminine within ourselves and in the world.
The Temple practices include and embrace our bodies, our sensuality, our anger and strength and our physical beauty; they celebrate birth and death, bleeding and menopause, our children and aging parents, the muddy earth and her different seasons, our need to go within and our need to express and share. The practices include being fully present in the deeply feeling awakened feminine heart while raising our children, doing the dishes, digging in the compost, putting on lipstick and sipping white wine in fancy restaurants.
